The notification form is available to download from the notifiable diseases web page and in the section for each relevant disease under the tab 'Our action' (‘Notre action’).
Some urgent illnesses must be reported immediately to the nearest regional health agency by any appropriate means, including during non-working hours, so that immediate action can be taken. You should then make a declaration using the relevant CERFA form (official forms used for administration purposes in France).
Certain diseases must be reported as soon as they are suspected, without waiting for a confirmed diagnosis from laboratory testing. These include botulism, viral haemorrhagic fever, anthrax, yellow fever, invasive meningococcal disease, poliomyelitis, measles and outbreaks of foodborne illness.
Santé publique France has set up an enhanced health monitoring and surveillance system for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This is largely based on existing surveillance systems, with added features for monitoring a mass gathering of this scale. For more information: link to the relevant section.
The health surveillance reports are published in weekly epidemiological bulletins. The national and regional bulletins can be found here (French only). An English version of the national bulletin is available here.
The indicators monitored for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are based on a multi-source system. They are produced by analysing data on hospitalisations, emergency department visits, SOS Médecins consultations and the emergency medical services (SAMU), as well as data concerning heatwaves and wastewater.
The indicators are published in weekly national and regional bulletins. The bulletins may also include specific updates related to an exceptional situation if necessary.
The indicators will be monitored daily to identify any unusual events, then published in weekly epidemiological bulletins. The national and regional bulletins will be available on the Santé publique France website, in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games section. A summary version of the weekly national bulletin will also be available in English. For more information: link
Will the indicators be available as open data? Some of the surveillance indicators used for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are also used in routine monitoring. These indicators are already available as open data and will remain accessible on the Géodes mapping platform. In addition, all national and regional indicators will be reported in weekly bulletins published on the Santé publique France website in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games section.
Throughout the summer, the agency will be working to prevent health risks related to the season and in the specific context of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Special attention will be given to providing clear information on prevention measures, with a particular focus on the priority areas identified during the risk mapping process. These include heatwaves, measles and arboviruses. Distribution of prevention resources and documents produced by Santé publique France has been stepped up in view of the high numbers of visitors expected. New documents have also been produced and translated into English.
Prevention documents and resources available to download or order can be found in our catalogue or under the 'Tools' (‘Outils’) tab in the High Temperatures/Heatwave (‘Forts chaleurs, canicule’) section.

The Healthcare Reserve could be mobilised during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, or at any time of the year, if an exceptional health situation requiring support from additional healthcare professionals were to occur (for example, if hospitals were reaching capacity while dealing with an epidemic in a given region).
To become a healthcare reservist in France, simply register online. After completing your profile and uploading all the mandatory documents, the platform generates a Healthcare Reserve contract of engagement. Simply print, sign and send it to Santé publique France by post. Once finalised, the signed contract can be found in your personal account above the uploaded documents.

By registering on the website reservesanitaire.fr, you will be informed of any assignments that correpond to your profile. Registration is quick: just fill in your name, status, profession and telephone number.
Then, before going on an assignment, you will need to complete your healthcare reservist profile, providing copies of your identification documents, diplomas, health insurance card, CV and a medical certificate of fitness. Depending on the role, other documents may be requested (second jobs, for example). We strongly recommended that you complete your profile before you receive an alert that fits your skills. However, healthcare reservists who haven't completed their profile can still receive alerts and volunteer for assignments; in this case, they would need to complete their profile in the time it takes for the assignment schedule to be finalised (under 24 hours). Healthcare reservists will be sent on an assignment if their profile is not complete.
France's strategic stock is managed by Santé publique France's pharmaceutical establishment. It includes medicines, medical devices and equipment that can be deployed in response to a serious health threat, supplementing local resources or where demand exceeds supply. In the context of major events such as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the volumes and locations of the resources, whether these are strategic or tactical, are adjusted according to identified risks and threats, as well as associated scenarios.
The pre-positioning of strategic stocks in the regions is specifically organised to respond quickly to an exceptional health situation. In addition to these pre-positioned resources, or if they run out, strategic stocks can be deployed 24 hours a day and delivered to the regional crisis management teams within 12 hours of a request.
